We have two sets of documents to choose from. The ones you choose depends on how you will get your documents witnessed…
Witnessing is when someone witnesses you autograph your documents. On the land we call that Recording. In the sea, they call it Notarizing. It is the same thing. Your paperwork is equally valid, whether it is Recorded using a Recording Secretary, or Notarized using a State of State Notary Public. Why? Because the documents are about you, not about who witnesses them. The witness is only there to make sure it is actually you autographing the documents. That’s it!
If you are going to use the services of a Recording Secretary for witnessing, there is a small fee involved. Be sure to arrange this in advance with your Recording Secretary, then click this button to get your documents
If you are going to use the services of a State of State Notary, many times this is free. Check with your bank or credit union. Libraries offer free notary services sometimes. There are also paid Notaries in places like the UPS Store, or office supply stores.
If you have questions about which documents to use, please talk to your Recording Secretary or Freedom Guide. Don’t have one yet? Ask for one using our Contact Us form!
Working with PDF Documents…
If you are working with your documents and are needing to combine, separate, add or remove pages to PDF documents before sending to your Recording Secretary, we highly recommend a little, free program called PDF24. There is an online version, or a downloadable version. We also have a tutorial for how to do most of the things you would need to do with your PDFs.
